Made By Moving is an unusually cohesive record from PCBender, ten tracks that share a common vocabulary of worn-in guitar tones, working-man stoicism, and a recurring preoccupation with silence as a kind of emotional truth. The album peaks at ‘Prehistoric Lies,’ a six-minute slow-burner that earns every second and casts a long shadow over what follows, making the closing ‘Riddles Abound’ feel less like a destination than a controlled exhale. There are no misfires here, but the album’s greatest strength is also its one friction point: nine of ten tracks operate at the same level of craft and ambition, which means the collection occasionally feels like it’s treading water between its best moments rather than building toward them.
