The opening image earns its keep immediately: morning light, separate cups, steam curling while two people let the silence do the talking. PCBender builds the track around that specific domestic dread, and the production matches it perfectly, a simmering minor-key groove that feels tighter than its brisk pace would suggest, with a guitar that answers every vocal phrase like a second voice in the argument. The hook lands hard because it earns its confession: ‘we both want to fix it, but we don’t have the tools’ is the kind of plain-spoken line John Hiatt might have let breathe, and PCBender gives it the same room. The guitar solo in the back half doesn’t showboat; it aches, which is exactly right. As a setup for what follows, it couldn’t be better placed.
