Inner Outer

From Made By Moving

Inner Outer

By track four, the album has moved from swagger to anxiety to plain-spoken resolve, and ‘Inner Outer’ deepens the inward turn without losing momentum. PCBender threads a tricky needle: a waltz at a quick, driving pace that swings harder than it broods, with a bass-and-drum pocket tight enough to anchor the restlessness the lyrics describe. The verses work like a pressure valve, each short stanza releasing a little more of what came before, ‘a breath withheld, a thought not spoken,’ and the guitar solo that erupts in the back half earns its moment because the build is patient. The line ‘above the storm I name the doubt’ is the kind of direct, unadorned writing that lands best when the track underneath it already has authority, and this one does. It rounds out the album’s opening quarter with a sense that the emotional terrain here is genuinely wide.

Lyrics

Inner Outer Over Through

A breath withheld A thought not spoken I fold beneath What stays unbroken

Inner Outer Over Through

Oppressive space Hectic mind Draining pace Ever behind

Inner Outer Over Through

The sky pulls wide My voice thins out Above the storm I name the doubt

Inner Outer Over Through

Face the dark Expose the heart Release embark Become impart
