Raven Dark
STAB reaches for something genuinely ambitious here, building a creation myth around a raven goddess in G minor at a mid-tempo 96 BPM, and the production earns the mythology: that cold-open of ambient synths and spoken word shatters into full-band impact around the 26-second mark with real conviction, the kind of dynamic gut-punch that Evanescence used to pull off on their best days. The call-and-response chorus, ‘I see / I hear / I feel’ answered by the chanted name, locks in a ritualistic groove that grows with each pass. The guitar solo section gives the track its beating heart, and the lyric ‘she plucked a feather from her tail / and with her oldest voice / sang life into the dust’ is quietly beautiful. A highlight, and proof STAB has more range than the pure rock-anthem mode suggests.
Lyrics
Raven Dark was of the One She created herself to know the Other
She dreamed dimensions into being so the Other could exist She cried and sparked vibration into the silence She forged the dust with the force of her wings
And she waited
I see... (Raven Dark) I hear... (Raven Dark) I feel... (Raven Dark)
We sing... (Raven Dark) We call... (Raven Dark) We love... (Raven Dark)
Raven Dark grew hungry for experience She plucked a feather from her tail and with her oldest voice sang life into the dust Raven Dark longed for her song to be heard She brought forth the first people so they could listen and love
And she guides them still
I see... (Raven Dark) I hear... (Raven Dark) I feel... (Raven Dark)
We sing... (Raven Dark) We call... (Raven Dark) We love... (Raven Dark)
I see... (Raven Dark) I hear... (Raven Dark) I feel... (Raven Dark)
We sing... (Raven Dark) We call... (Raven Dark) We love... (Raven Dark)
And she guides And she waits
