After two consecutive hard-rock gut-punches, ‘Venus Syndrome’ arrives at an even faster pace and keeps the pressure up rather than releasing it, which is the right call: the album doesn’t lose momentum, it sharpens it. The opening guitar riff lands like a wall, and 4Castle never let the pressure drop across its tight 3:33. ‘Thought she was Venus, shining bright’ is the kind of chorus that earns its shout, and the bridge line ‘being hot is no virtue’ gives the cautionary tale enough wit to keep it from feeling like a grudge track. Punchy and direct, with layered guitars that push hard without burying the lead vocal, ‘Venus Syndrome’ is the album’s penultimate peak: it burns everything down so that ‘Void of Intention’ can begin in the ash and build back toward something worth the journey.
