Baker's Dozen

Baker’s Dozen is PCBender doing what he does best: building a full guitar record from pure feel, no lyrics needed, no explanation required. The calendar conceit gives the album a loose structural spine, moving from the brisk, coiled energy of ‘January Kiss’ through the waltz-heavy middle months and landing softly on ‘366’, a compact closer that feels less like a finale than a quiet exhale after a long year. Eight of the thirteen tracks earn their keep without qualification, and the five that sit a step below never embarrass the collection; they just breathe a little less. At roughly 42 minutes, it earns its title without overstaying its welcome.
